Chapter 2 – Cheers to February! 🥂
May you be surrounded with love and warmth this month. Let’s remember to honor the accomplishments and legacies of many influential African Americans (and black Americans) who have shaped America today! Happy Black History Month ✊🏾
So this month, I bite off a bit more than I could chew. I tend to sprint before I can walk. Last month’s animation was a crawl. This month’s illustration was more of a sprint. I had more intense shadowing, curves, and colors to account for. The palm, of the hand, was quite tricky to sketch as well color match. Adjusting the opacity helped with this.
Another shortcoming i encounter was skill level. To be honest, I only practice animating and flat illustrations when it is time for me to come up with the monthly cover story. For me to evolve in my skills, I must practice on a more consistent basis. Maybe I have too many goals on my plate, and I need to readjust. Or perhaps I need to manage my time better. Regardless discipline is the vehicle that will take me to the next level.
